Year 2 2021 - 2022

Mrs Fox

Mr Tognarelli

Welcome to Year 2!

Year 2 is an exciting and memorable year for the children, a time when they feel settled in school, and build on the skills they have gained in Year One. We aim for them to be confident writers, fluent in the 2, 5 and 10 times tables, and ready for Key Stage two. We are experienced teachers who have been sharing this class for the last two years. It is always lovely to see the children growing in confidence in their communication skills, developing their abilities to get on and to explain their ideas.

Our main topics in the Spring Term are St. Lucia and The Caribbean and Learning about Plants in Science. We start our day with our Read Write Inc phonics sessions to boost our reading skills, and we have PE in the hall on Tuesday afternoons.

Meet the Team

Mrs Fox has the class from Wednesday to Friday. She has two little boys who keep her busy at home and, in her spare time, she enjoys baking.

Mr Tognarelli teaches the children on Monday and Tuesday. He rides to school on his bike, and he loves to teach Science and to play the guitar.

Mrs Flood is our teaching assistant and she is with the class throughout the week. She enjoys woodland walks and spending money at the Trafford Centre.
